I think we all should start a petition and take it to the US Senate and see what happens
As John Marston said just a few moments ago, the Conservancy is using their best efforts to keep the iconic vessel from further deterioration into a lost cause... and that's not far off from its current condition! Like I said in a previous response : the Conservancy really needs one of these zillionaire super rich persons whom we all hear about donating $ to this cause or that cause to please STEP UP, okay??? Having a "sugar daddy" with the financial resources available to repurpose the SS United States would sure be a guaranteed lease on life for her... I wish it was otherwise but I fear the Conservancy just can't find enough $ to do what's actually needed for a seriously realistic repurposing of her that's more than just another temporary stopgap... its very sad ---
Mayor bloomberg is so wealthy, with 61 billion dollars, wouldn't it be the right thing to do, for our country. Restore the S.S. UNITED STATES SHIP IN THE DELAWARE RIVER, BACK TO IT'S NATURAL STATE. MAYBE HE COULD EVEN RIGHT IT OFF. Ask Mayor Bloomberg on N.Y. to restore it for our country.
