There is no admission fee to Roan Mountain State Park nor is there any charge for parking.
You have to pay to camp and I would think to go to the pool.
Parking is free at Roan Mountain State Park. The Rhododendron Gardens at the top of Roan Mountain charge $5 for parking that is free with a variety of annual passes such as national parks pass senior pass. There is free parking at Carver's Gap just a mile mile-and-a-half below the top of Roan Mountain.
There is a $5/day charge to access the top of the mountain. It is free if you have a Sr pass
