A must go to if you are in the area. They even have full moon night hike, along with other activities. Get the pass pack at the library for free parking and information brochures.

Beautiful park! Small and quaint setting. Walking trails close by.

My first time camping and it was a success! Beautiful views, great hiking trails, and a plethora of activities available for everyone! My only suggestion is to pack light when camping. It’s definitely a hike to the campsites. However, waking up to a beautiful lake view was totally worth it!

Tranquil and serene On My next visit to Georgia, will definitely stop by

Catfish and Bream are catch and keep, and largemouth bass are catch and release.
Yes, fishing is allowed

Yes
Self guided and nature center!
Yes it's open... There are some limits on brim and catfish. The bass are catch and release. Enjoy!
Yes, it is $5/car. We do have yearly memberships avaliable. Even if an attendant is not on duty the fee still applies. We have self pay boxes throughtout the park.
You can only get on top of the mountain with a private tour and the same is true at night so no time to juat staregaze
hunting not allowed but I believe they have a day of hunting occasionally when the deer population gets too big. check at the office
Great place for picnics. We tossed out a blanket and had lunch. Bugs? Didn't bother us but we did encounter while trail walking.
Our campsites are traditional hike-in primitive sites.
The Park isn't a fishing hole, so no market for bait nearby.
Yes. The self guided trails are completely different than the guided tours. The guided tours are scheduled at specific times and are well worth the effort. The tour guides are well educated and the views are amazing.
Yes, when it is very hot in the summer you can expect them to be sunning on the paved PATH trail.
It is not only for walking and cycling and playing in the park in the first entrance is the park
I heard quite a few owls, but didn't see any deer, foxes, and gratefully no bears.
When I was at the archery range this morning there was a sign saying no fishing until September.
The self guided trails allow dogs as well, but id ask the ranger station if you want to bring your dog through the guided trails, I know there's portions of it that have some endangered plant life so they try to minimize foot traffic off the trail.
$22 per night. $154 per week
We are working with our Fisheries department on when the lakes will be re-opened to fishing. Due to the re-construction we are having to re-stock and re-grow our fish population. Thank you for your understanding.
Our bike rentals our $10 per hour per bike. Rentals are available from 8am to 3:30pm seven days a week.
We currently do not have boat rentals. We are hopeful that we can start renting boats agian next spring. Our lake construction just completed and we are hoping for some rain to fill up our lakes up soon.
Thank you for answering Shawn. That is correct. We do not have showers, it is $22/night for camping.
Unfortunately there is sign of them in the NE section of the park.
They don't have general camping at this park. Onky a group camp for scouts and other large groups. I believe it is currently closed due to construction of a dam.
No, it will be two more years before we allow fishing. We have to re-stock and allow the fish to grow to catchable size.
There is a long paved sidewalk that has rolling hills that you could choose to take as your trail for the day. I believe it is part of the Stone Mountain Path or a similar sidewalk trail system.
The nature center/park info area closes at 5. There are trails you can access from other areas.
No fishing. Literally down the street and around the corner is Alexander Lake. Fishing is allowed however the lake may still be under maintenance.
Yes, great for hiking ..
No
No camping at this park but high hills state part has camping
There are five primitive campsites around a small Lake. Bring your tent.
No. This park is actually a historic preservation site, sinits quite the opposite. Georgia State parks has a good website describing all the parks and what all they have.
The state park management building closes at five. I've been down there walking after five. So I believe the park itself closes at either dark or 10pm.
You cant actually hike the mountain without a guide. That part is a preseve area. You'll have to check the park website to see when guided tours are being held. The hiking and biking trails around it are what you have access to and those have the woods i was talking about.
Lakes were being drained for repair. Check the river near by
Yes,
You can fly drones but retrieving them in the areas blocked off are a strict no no.
Should have been finished last year.
Don't know. I did not fish while I was out there.
Yes.....The last time I was there rhe park ranger told us that it will be closed until next summer.😕
I believe you can only park in the designated parking areas and then walk to the camp site.
To rebuild the dam
