You cant actually hike the mountain without a guide. That part is a preseve area. You'll have to check the park website to see when guided tours are being held. The hiking and biking trails around it are what you have access to and those have the woods i was talking about.
It will depend on where you park and how fast you hike. I definitely recommend the guided tour and the park office can tell you how long it takes. Outcrop trail took me about 20 min i wasn't rushing.
This is the least well-known, but best protected of 3 giant monadnocks near Atlanta. The good, news is that it is an amazing place and the guided homes, are good. The bad news,is that they have to restrict access in order to keep it that way.
