Is it allowable to set up a tent anywhere off the AT in the park?? Would like to primitive camp for a day or two in the spring. Don't plan on having a campfire.

On the AT I'm pretty sure that you can camp along the trail as long as its not marked "no camping". Which would be around tourist attractions. If you want detailed information you can call the visitors center.

Inside the Stae Park itself,I believe you have to tent camp in the designated area set aside for tents. I dont think you can just set up anywhere . The ranger station can answer your questions any day of the week during normal hours.

I'm pretty sure not. They have a primitive area but it is for groups only. Some of the campsites are tent only though...there's a whole section just for tents.
