There are chain restaurants under the name Sumo Japanese Steakhouse. But this location Sumo San Antonio, Japanese Steakhouse is not part of any chain or franchise. Is independently owned and operated which allows them to achieve a higher standard of quality of food and service. I am a huge fan, and I have been eating here for close to 8 years on a regular basis.

Sumo Japanese Steakhouses are part of a national chain of restaurants, but many (if not all) locations are independently owned/operated.

All are corporate regulated. Some are Corporate owned, some are a franchised.
