There are chain restaurants under the name Sumo Japanese Steakhouse. But this location Sumo San Antonio, Japanese Steakhouse is not part of any chain or franchise. Is independently owned and operated which allows them to achieve a higher standard of quality of food and service. I am a huge fan, and I have been eating here for close to 8 years on a regular basis.
Reservations are a must if you want to ensure a seat for yourself and your party. If you are a wall, there is no guarantee you'll get a seat. Prices can range from $21 To $30 for a single person, (without appetizers), it depends on what you choose and what protein you choose also.
I can't remember what the meals cost, but I do remember that I haven't been that satisfied with food, service and especially entertainment from any restaurant in decades.
