No issue....you can go to beach 6....it is a wonderful family beach..and very little tide.
Beach 11 is suggested for young children because it is not directly on the lakeside, it is in a more protected area, so less waves and its shallow. However, because of getting less waves it has a tendency to not get 'flushed out' as easily as other beaches and some times there are advisories and it was closed recently for high levels of bacteria. Next suggested beach for children, Beach 9, then Beach 8 which has brand new bathrooms (July 2018)
Robert Tate, I may have used the wrong term with "tide" they may technically be rip currents. They are very real in many of the lake Erie Beaches in Ohio. I had dear friend loose his life to one while rescuing a stranger from it. There is very real basis to my fear.
No issues like that here. Beaches 6 & 7 are awesome to go to p
We go to beach 11 and it's never too busy. And Loveeeeee the water.!
I personally love taking my family to beach 1, great water!
Every where we went was nice
Lake Erie does not have a tide. (Lunar pull is not strong enough). But it can experience substantial storm surge with very large waves. The waves coming in will be dependent on the weather... Calm slight breeze = Minimal wave at best. Storm weather it's present at the beach or elsewhere along the entire lake will/can effect your experience. Basically the wind will blow and push the water ashore. I've seen 5-6 foot waves come in. Yesterday they were nearly immeasurable. Summary: check the weather forecast for the area surrounding the lake for heavy storms
Beach 11 by far most peaceful
Beach 11 is on the Bayside and has a play area for kids also
