Suspension...the people posting below regarding tunnels are confusing the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Annapolis, MD with the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel which is a trestle bridge with tunnels in VA.

It is actually a combination of three major kinds of bridges, it is a suspension bridge in the middle, arch bridges on either side of the suspensions, and closer to shore it becomes a beam bridge. Some parts where it arches could be considered a cantilever bridge because of the trusses that continue above the bridge.
Suppension with tunnel in between. Have to pay the toll before across the bridge okay.😀
