Most people who are allergic to cats are allergic to dander and saliva, which even hairless cats have. There is no truly hypoallergenic cat, though some cats produce less dander and many people may become acclimated and less allergic over time. If you're looking for a Sphinx, a Rex, and so on, they're fairly rare - you can visit or call the shelter directly to ask them to keep an eye out, but most places don't check their Google questions, these are predominantly answered by local volunteers, not staff.
I have been told there is an additive you can purchase and put in the kittys food that helps with this also. This is a great shelter that has alot of kittys and a great staff to help.
