I adopted a sweet kitten 2.5 weeks ago and have had to take him to two different vets bc he has had tapeworms and uncontrollable diarrhea that the different vets can't fix.. for 2.5 weeks mind you. Which turned into bloody diarrhea. I have spent over $500 on this poor boy. I don't know about you but administering 5 different meds on a 4 month old kitten is not the easiest task. RMFR gave me flora and said "Here, this should fix his diarrhea" His tapeworms were so bad. RMFR did not treat him for them. If you want to adopt a kitten or cat they have plenty that's for sure but in my personal opinion, they don't seem to care whether their cats go out healthy or not. If you want to literally 'rescue' a cat from somewhere, it should be FROM Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue. Be sure to get the records of their vaccines and treatment.

Ben and all the awesome women at the rescue were amazing! They knew where all the cats were located, and they showed us around the whole place!

As a volunteer of RMFR and owner of two RMFR kitties, I can tell you that they will take great care of her. And she will definitely find a good home. And until she's adopted, she'll have a great home at RMFR. :)
Yes! Give them a call and set something up. They are a no kill shelter and will take really good care if him. They're closed today and will be open Friday.
It's an awesome place to find, and adopt kitties, cats. I spent a decent amount of time there playing with the kitties and cats before adopting 2 cats and a kitten
I can't speak for them but I volunteer there as a foster mom and I know that the adoption coordinator works hard to appropriately place animals into the right homes. I think they will work with you and your friend if you reach out to them.
Most people who are allergic to cats are allergic to dander and saliva, which even hairless cats have. There is no truly hypoallergenic cat, though some cats produce less dander and many people may become acclimated and less allergic over time. If you're looking for a Sphinx, a Rex, and so on, they're fairly rare - you can visit or call the shelter directly to ask them to keep an eye out, but most places don't check their Google questions, these are predominantly answered by local volunteers, not staff.
ditto
I don't know, but call the shelter!! They are very knowlegable and are connected with other shelters.
I can't answer for sure on how their intake works with the public and turning in cats, but I have been working with RMFR for about 6 years on their rescue intake side and can say with certainty that they are probably the best cat rescue that I have come across in the Denver / Aurora area. If you have to take in your cat, I would have no doubts whatsoever that the staff there would make sure he is treated great and adopted out to a family who does well with him. Sorry to hear about having to give him up tho. Always a hard thing to do.
I dont work at the shelter, but check their hours and take the kitty in... thats my suggestion
Yes this place is great. I would contact them for further advise on what you need to do to either catch them but they are great.
I would leave a message and then make certain you have your phone on you, ringer enabled, at all times until you hear back. Don’t want to miss that important call!!
They have kittens, it's $150 for under 4 months old. They are open on weekends. https://www.rmfr-colorado.org/adopt
They I think still have people they call for that definetly call them and see if they still have volunteers that do that
Is he a neutered male.. If he is not neutered I would get him neutered. Are you sure that he will not return to your home...? If he's not neuter that's probably why. the rescue itself is pretty much at capacity but they do allow for cats to come in there.. They do so much great work there!!!
Dumb friends league has free days and I'm sure Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue can refer you too others such as Spay Today and the mobile van etc...
Yes they do that it is included in the adoptions
They had some declawed cats when I was there, they do take them. They also take FIV-positive and other hard-to-place cats.
You would need to call the rescue and speak with them directly.
Try Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue. They open @ 12:00 today. If they can't take it, I'm sure they can advise.
Feline fla positive
They will be able to take the cat I'm pretty sure. Just explain that you cannot keep it.
They do have a foster program and you do not have to work there. Call or email them to enquire
We actually foster kittens from here...there are usually a bunch that come in.
Hello David! We don't give rabies shots at the shelter. I would suggest giving the shelter a call and check with your vet as well! Thank you for adopting!
70 dollars
Yes.
Should have not waited
Ive been there as well as paw boost pet harbor and adams county shelter....can i see the cats your adopting out?
Cats only. Read the description first
I believe they take all cats
Cats only
Have you sought out medical advice from your vet? If he suddenly started marking, there could be a medical issue that caused the marking. In the meantime if you're able - limit him to one room.
