Further out channel from inland the better, a few snook and a couple nice jack along the sea wall at tide change top water [lucky]. Any shrimp idle in the middle is subject to catfish. If you can pitch virtually anything alive under docks across the canal you’ve potential for hookup.
I lived there for 3 years. Loved every minute of it. Fished many a day on the boardwalk. Shrimp, cut squid. Cast to the posts across the canal or near shade of docks and you will catch. Had several Reds from there, many channel cats and if you let the bait go to the bottom, you will enjoy the line break from a StingRay hook up. Never a bored moment and how can you beat walking out of your door and down to the boardwalk. 3 minutes and your line is wet. LOVED IT.
