It varies, but I retired Dec 2017 and received my correct pension April 2018 which is four months. Please note that all of my buyback time was calculated and bought just before I filed my retirement papers. So, there were no complications, just the calculation of the pension. Now that I think about it, it may be that the buyback has to be paid beforehand. So, this perhaps didn't need to be mentioned. Ok, I updated this with info from trsnyc.org: TRS must receive any claim for prior service credit before your retirement date. However, claiming and purchasing prior service credit sooner rather than later would prevent additional interest from accruing and increasing the cost. So, it seems one can purchase any claimed prior service after the retirement date, but this would prolong the time for receiving the final pension.
Did trs receive my rmd
