It’s origins goes back to 1867, when President Andrew Johnson signed legislation creating the first Department of Education. Its main purpose was to collect information and statistics about the nation's schools.

It was very easy to transfer my niece from a Yonkers to Brooklyn high school. The staff member at the Dept of Education was nice and professional and spoke my spanish language. I believe that they they have interpreters in the building or they would provide one on the phone.

Today it was my wife and she was attended by a very inattentive and rude lady. She felt very bad for the inhumanity of the lady, there must be people more empathic with others to provide all their support. Not understanding the language, there was no good communication but the lady lacked courtesy.

very bad place, people are rude and do not want to help people who do not know English very well. Americans are very kind and positive people, but those who work in this place show the opposite. what a pity

There are about 3 board of education offices in you area, Flatlands Rockaway Parkway. If I was you I would call first to know which one to go to, or call 311 info line they will direct you. All the best in the USA, you do know that Jamaicas education is more superior to the Us. British education far better.
The first step is to select the high school that you want to attend in NY. Then the second step you must go to the Dept of Ed Adminst Building in whatever borough you decide with your transcripts and speak to one of the associates- then they can provide the rest of the information. Its truly not a hard process. I hope that this info helps. Good luck.
I believe it's by the 6th grade
Department of education, ocean ave
You can take her to the office on ocean ave and choose the school you want to enroll her
The zone school is preferably, unless other school are offering a program that the zone school doesn't offer. In any case you should go to the Family Welcome Center. They can better guide you.
