My two childrens' passports expire in September 7 &10. We are traveling to Italy later this month and they require a renewal within 6 months. We just found out this information. Is there a way to get my kids passports renewed within a few days?

Calling is a nightmare, the people answer are really not so polite. Call every day until you get the appointment start at 7:55am to get it. Print the flight info, birth certificate and ss card just in case and money to pay. My could get 3 days before his trip.

If you can prove your international travel within 14 business days you can get an expedited passport. Which means the passport would be available within a few days. Check with the agency because some rules may be different depending on where you go. Call as soon as they open at 8am and MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. This place is by appiontment only.
