I am doing a passport renewal. I live in KY but my interview is in DC. My interview is in a week and due to extenuating circumstances I cant make it. Can I get a proxy to pick it up for me?

Do you mean that you won't make the passport renewal appointment or you wont be able to pick up your passport afterwards? Renewals must be done in person...no mail ins and no proxy. If, however, you are unable to go back for passport collection, simply go to the embassy on your interview date with a pre-paid Priority Mail envelope. It must be certified mail (which is basically a green sticker that cost $3and some cents). Hand this envelope over to them at your interview and your passport will be mailed back to you. This is the route I've gone over the years.

You can pay for them to mail it to you if its not urgent
