Do you guys sell handguns to 18 year olds? I was looking up handgun laws in Georgia for 18 year olds, and I know we can't carry, but I was reading that you can legally buy a handgun from a private owner or from a gun show, BUT NOT from a dealer.

Federal law states you must be 21 to purchase a handgun even from an individual or a gun show. As an individual selling a firearm to another individual they are only allowed to sell a firearm to someone that they have no reason to believe cannot legally purchase one, and again Federal law prohibits anyone under the age of 21 buying a handgun. You can legally own a handgun at 18 but still can not legally purchase one.

I believe you have to be 21 to buy a handgun. But I think you only have to 18 to buy a shotgun or rifle. But they will definitely let you know there.

Private owner may sell it to you but it is still illegal for you to have it.
