The park used to open earlier than 8am during spring and summer. What happened? I try to get on the trail by 7am but the gate has been locked. Will this change back? I miss my morning exercise around the lake. Thanks.

They started opening the gates at 7:30 because of vandalism there during the night. This started about 2 months ago.

I recommend that you contact the New Hanover County government offices for the park's operating hours.
