I would say go ahead and ride your scooter the average speed even for cars is about 30 Mi with congestion so don't worry about it and don't let anyone give you any flack put your head down just make sure you're wearing your helmet and being safe remember scooters and bikes are always better than cars in other words they should be up to you and not the other way around & of course having a rock handy to hurl at any cars that cut you off isn't a bad idea either. Good luck!
I have an electric bike with pedal assist it goes average 16+ mph & I've hit average 25mph [which is the speed limit if there's no signs] on the bridge not using the throttle. Make sure u keep open eyes & ears. I don't know if there's a speed limit for the pedestrian/bike Brooklyn bridge but there's alot of people walking there too & I just witnessed an accident on Thursday. You have to look out for pedestrians and pedestrians have to look out for bikes and keep to the pedestrian lane [which is usually to the right].
The bridge gets very congested. I don't recommend using it to cross. Not worth risking injury to yourself or others.
