I like taking the Manhattan Bridge to get a good view of Chinatown as well as of the Brooklyn bridge. I also think it offers the best view of Lower Manhattan. Much less travelled also, all the tourists throng on the Brooklyn Bridge.

You can see the world wide variety of different types of different information about the Manhattan bridge
I would say Brooklyn Bridge because it is more famous than Manhattan Bridge and since the question is for a tourist, they sure would want to see the popular places in New York
If you use google earth you can use the measuring tools and measure the pylons. This is fairly accurate for most stuff. We used this quite often in architecture school for information like this. Hope it works for you!
I suppose a small ceremony could be performed on the sidewalk but i would advise against this. Maybe consider literally anywhere else
In 1902 it was named like that because of its geographical and historic significance
The walking lane is on the brookling side of the east river
It connects Manhattan with Brooklyn. Maybe check out the map feature of Google Maps
Absolutely! Get on at Christie St. On the left (when looking at bridge) from Canal.
There is one and quite nice as you see Brooklyn and south Manathan. Nice pictures. It is impressive as high above water. subway and cars use dedicated lines and never interfere as you are totally separated from them. Have good fun. Last thing, as it is less known than Brooklyn bridge, there are only locals and no tourists.
Hello if you can walk up the back of Chinatown and down in Brooklyn Dumbo, it is less colorful than the Brooklyn Bridge but you have the best view, regards
Yes Both ways
Yes
It's called the Manhattan Bridge because you can see the fancy arch and hangout in the promenade only on the Manhattan side. When you hit Brooklyn, there's nothing fancy there. All you have is pavement and an underpass. And there's other bridges too: Williamsburg, Washington, Brooklyn, and the Edward Koch.
I cant understand
The Manhattan Bridge is actually one of the few in NYC that are free. No toll.
Long enough
