There is a chance you can get ripped off this is a store return auction. But I have not had a problem. They do not give good descriptions of the items but as long as you pay attention to what the product goes for in stores and try to get it at least 50% of its retailed for you should be good. Some items I have bought have had small issues but the cost of fixing them is still cheaper than retail. I recently purchased a 600 bike for 80. Needed a new crank arm and pedals. Cost me 50 and it was worth it for this bike.
I've bought plenty from them. None of the listings I see are labeled "new", only "used". Buying here is entirely about risk and it's a crapshoot. Look at the item's pictures and look for damage to packaging or the product itself. Calculate how likely you will be to fix the damage or find replacement parts. I've bought 50+ items from SLI over the past 18 months and most of them were usable. I've glued a wood board back together, contacted manufacturers for parts, bought parts at the hardware store, or lived with cosmetic damage. If you're a DIY-er and aren't afraid to mix epoxy then this place is fun to buy from. If you want a very good condition item, then buy it from Amazon, Best Buy or Home Depot for the price they're selling it for. Getting "ripped off" implies an intent to mislead, and SLI doesn't do that. If you buy from them thinking it's just cheap but haven't figured out why, you're going to be disappointed.
Ripp off guarantee now. Almost everything is broken or missing parts,In website the description they never gonna say anything. Sells higher then Ebay, and if you choose pickup you will wait over two and a half hours. Delivery is expensive. So this is my last time im buying here.
Items are FALSELY Advertised as new and functional. Or simple, powers on. Then there's NOBODY TO TEST THE ITEM BEFORE YOU PAY. AFTER YOU PAY, ITS A STORE CREDIT ONLY!!
One suggestion, if you are buying small items that are cheap to ship, they are great about returns. You end up only out the shipping cost. Picking up is a headache. BUT as everyone has said, it’s all on you. I’ve gotten 3000K items for 200 bucks! I’ve also gotten completely unusable items worth 2000K, and I paid 80 bucks. It’s kinda like gambling, but blaming the casino when you lose is BS
There’s a 50/50 chance. I did business with them for half a year until an item was not shipped. 1 month going back and forth and nothing. They kept my money.
Both....You will most likely will get ripped off. Lots of items are incorrectly described in the listing and there is NO refund policy.
Your a Karen. Get cheap stuff. Or go yell at Wal-Mart customer service.
As others have said that if you want something guaranteed in new pristine condition then this is not for you. I've called manufacturers and they are very helpful for parts etc. Some items have minor flaws and others items need minor repair. It's up to you what you prefer. Buying on auction is always a gamble but in the long run is well worth it to me. I have time to take care of the details, maybe you don't. NOT A RIPOFF.
This place has gone down hill severely in the last year almost everything is a members only item and 3/4 of the things I've bought there are broken or not at all as they were made to look they purposely won't post pics of flaws of the item
I think that with every order I receive I am more disappointed in the quality. Especially when the damage is obvious but. They failed to point it out in pictures or description and listed the item as new/other. Shipments come in HORRIBLE shape and are often missing parts of your order. Bid wisely and with the thought in the back of your mind that the item may end up right in your trash bin or possibly for parts only. I received items that were obviously defective but, the damage was not dipected in the pictures and was actually "hidden". Buyer beware is all I can say.
Don't pay any amount for anything you're not ok with losing. I've bought quite a few items and at first everything was well. Now the last 5 or 6 items I bought were severely damaged (and it didn't show that in the photo) or didn't work.
I used the online auction for over a year. Items with multiple parts in picture not in box. Photos don't always show the damage and not mentioned in description. I won a miter saw critical parts in pic not in box item not usable parts expensive and unavailable. Won bed sealed new item all hardware missing. customer service is hit or miss if you have low expectations you will be ok no money return store credit only
