I had a mom myself. First my condolences to your mom ad the apartment, if you lived at the for at least three years, you could be the co-tennant and by law you be awarded the apartment. I know because when my mom passed on, I the apartment was turned over to me so check to see if your the co-tennant if you lived in tbe apartment for at least three years, you could have the apartment. That's how it was in my situation I lived with my mother in the same apartment for forty six years and when she passed on, the apartment was turned over to me

It’s up to the landlord. You have to be given rights legally. Your mom couldn’t just add you to the lease. She would’ve had to be given permission. Because you’ve been there over 30 days you won’t immediately have to vacate, however if the landlord wants you gone you will have to leave.
