I have put in a tourism visa thru IVISA. I’m only going to be in Australia for 6 hours going from a Princess cruise ship to the airport in Sydney. I put the application in a month ago and still have not had a reply. The starts on 26 Sept I’ll be in Australia on 02 November. However if I don’t have the visa by the 23 September I cant board the ship to take the cruise. I’m very concerned that I won’t get the visa on time. I’ve had several work visa’s in the past and it has never taken this long before. I went on ETA and was told to contact the Australian Embassy but when I did I was told the embassy has nothing to do with tourism visa’s. Any assistance that can be provided will certainly be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Wanda Gladys Leas

Pretty much all American citizens have to get some type of visa to enter Australia. The visas fees can range from 300AUD TO 600AUD. The waiting process could be up to a year espically with COVID-19.

It's all about the origin of the passport that you hold. Green Card just gives you legal permission, with better ease, to come back to the US and call it your home.
