DESIREE MOMOFTHREE

Much more informative, than the consulate in Atlanta.*sorry!* actually , it's the one I used to go through for Documents, passports, info., when living in Atlanta. NYC Irish Consulate were able to help me in my more unusual situation of obtaining passports for my children, (a Dublin proccess) advice on what our rights are, as dual citizens of America and Ireland. (which is part of the EU for those that are not aware). They are very particular about it nowadays, and it's reserved only through legacy.. Basically now- Only through a parent that was an Irish citizen, when you were born. (Tis A GREAT thing for us auld Yanks that would prefer to bring their children back home and reverse what our mothers or fathers did, *OR grandparents* as the American dream has turned to nightmare for many of us- ☆ feeling blessed for EIRE- as a Maher of three, that are feeling lost in this US non-united system (where children can be ripped from their MOTHER, in A Southern town with narrow Minds- based on slander, libel, and appearance, and disability that DOES NOT affect my parenting. Add my decision to legally homeschooling via online ,with a Georgia waiver submitted to the DOE!) Never imagined that would be enough to be treated like a criminal, when I don't even believe in spanking...I am fed up with having harassment done to me by classless people, using a different form of abuse when they could not lay their hands on me or my kids.... how very WRONG, and definitely feel ashamed to be American right now... Money does not buy class, nor does it buy dignity, empathy, or ethics. THANK GOD FOR THE US CONSTITUTION& IT'S FEDERAL PROTECTIONS OF HUMAN RIGHTS- albeit still in the process of seeing this work.

Loved working with Cheryl... great timely communication..I was a first time 90 days visa Applicant they granted me that with multiple entry. She communicated via email and guided me through for the right documents in the entire process. She was nice humble and welcoming with a positive attitude..

My experience with them is pretty good. Got the visa approved in 3 weeks as they promised and they allow me to take the passport back for other purposes while the visa application is in process. Something that could be improved is the sign-in sheets. The visitors need to make their own effort to maintain the order and there are always people who pretend they got there first. The officers don't really seem to care at all.

I applied under the same program and got my citizenship. Be prepared for it to take a long time and you need to get all the documents.

We will be travelling to Ireland in August and a member in our group has a Jamaican Passport, but is also a Green Card holder. Does she need a Visa to travel to Ireland?

I have Irish passport based on grandparents. Can my grandson claim citizenship and qualify for a Irish passport or alternatively, get more easily a work permit visa for a year?

That would depend. If you had irish citizenship prior to your son/daughter's birth. And they got irish citizenship prior to your grandsons birth. Then yes... But I'm assuming you just recently received irish citizenship, so the buck stops with you... He would be treated like any other foreigner and have to go through the normal process to obtain work visa or citizenship.. sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

When living ('08) in CA, I had flight tickets purchased for a June trip. Besides my passport (I was not yet an Irish citizen) application, I had to submit a copy of my flight schedule and purchase receipt to the SF Irish Consulate. I received my passport expeditiously and used it entering Ireland. I'm in the process of renewing the expiring (May '08.) I believe I applied in early April.
