I work at the airport. Just make sure once the new terminal opens that you get there, in line, at least 2 hours before your flight. Moat of all the gates are going to be a good long walk from the front. Also, all airlines will be going through the checkpoint as there will be only one checkpoint. You will for sure see long lines pretty much all of the time. If you are checking bags, make sure you come even earlier. It is not going to be as easy as the way it is now.

Someone's comment, A lot of folks appreciate the convenience of the current Kansas City International Airport, as do I. However, it’s NOT like most airports across the country. For many reasons such as VERY few places to eat and shop, especially within the gate areas. As well as the overall design of the horseshoe shaped terminals. I’m really excited about the new airport that’s scheduled to open in March 2023. It will definitely be a much new and better experience.
