Yes yhe A and 1 trains are nearby, but since the cloisters are atop of the park there's a walk of at least 10 minutes. There's also the M5 bus that takes you through the park and leaves you in front of one of the Cloisters entrances.
Yes there are two, both about a 10-minute walk through the park.
Or take the A train to 190 and then take the elevator up to Margaret Corbin Dr. This cuts the walk to under 5 minutes and its through the gardens with lovely views of the GWB and the Hudson.
5 or C train
The exit from the train is very close to the entrance to the park and from there it is a few minutes' walk to the entrance to the Cloisters. Train A arrives at the scene.
