Well if you originally purchased your pet from there then it's a $50 charge. If not then yeah surrender your pet to SPCA. I hope it works out well for you both (you n your pet :*)

There are actually an abundance of options for this issue. As someone already stated, you can surrender your pet to the SPCA...however, it is not always a simple process. They are under no obligation to take your animal, as they are a private entity, and are not a government operated facility. There are a lot of other rescue organizations in the area who can help as well. A lot of them will take owner surrenders. Unfortunately, if none of that works you can go to your county's municipal animal shelter. Since I don't know exactly where you live...I can't be much more specific.
