They have counselors there and case managers there who help set this stuff up. If the person is going to be on methadone, Kirkbride will take them there after they get discharged and drop them off. Usually they're given a day pass to get to the place they're staying... I have seen 2-3 people come out with nowhere to go, or mistakes made in setting up the housing, but this is not the norm. AND if something like this happens, the person needs to call the CBH office right away and demand to be seen so they can file a complaint and get the help they need. After that they contact the OAS (Office of Addiction Services) and apply for placement at a Recovery House
Kirkbride needs to hire staff that have some education in mental health and addiction. The techs that work there are so ghetto. They are ignorant and disrespectful. The patients there have come there for help for whatever reason. They should not have to come to a facility and be treated and talked to like a dog.
