I inquired about Homeowner/Flood Ins from my Agent at State Farm and the rates are ridiculous, I can't afford to insure my home. I live in the Woodlawn West Neighborhood and have been without ins for a few years. Recently divorced. What can I do??

The department of insurance has several programs to assist residents with insurance. The only way to know if you qualify or if they have that particular program is to go directly to their website or call for assistance.

Go to ldi.la.gov, there is a comparison guide where you can see insurers and get an idea of pricing. Always shop around, you never know what an agent can offer you. Find companies and producers (agents) by company and zip codes. LDI can not tell you beyond general information but there are homeowners guide to aid in understanding what is offered. Hope you can find something.
