There is a distressed hawk in the woods on my property and I am not sure what to do. My dog and I found it this morning. It had been squawking. When my dog started to approach it just spread it's wings but didn't move or fly away! We walked away.

Plz call Raptur Trust asap. Let them know.

There's a number you can call at the raptor trust and you can go through the menus for animal emergencies. Depending upon how they evaluate the situation the best option maybe to call someone more experienced with capturing wild animals. But they should be able to advise you nonetheless, here's their number: 908 647 2353, but they don't open until 9 so I don't know if there's anyone there yet. For something like this you can also try calling other wildlife conservation centers in the area too
