They will take the bird even when the place is not open. Keep the bird warm and you can leave it in a animal carier there. They supply heating pads and a sheet to fill out about info on where you found the bird and such.
Most of the time that people find baby birds on the ground, it is because they are fledging the nest (leaving the nest for the first time)...they will usually be on the ground for a few days before they build up the strength to fly. In those few days, they will do a lot of flapping to build up wing strength and might try some short flights; the parents are normally nearby, watching for predators & feeding their fledgings. The only time a baby bird needs rescuing is if it is out of the nest when it is still featherless, or appears sick or injured.
Yes! Definitely bring it. Same thing happened to me and they took care of the baby bird.
best place to take a baby bird
Yes
Sneha. If you believe the bird shows obvious signs of injury, then please bring it here to the Raptor Trust or to another wildlife rehabilitator in your area
Unless it's just a helpless little hatchling, most of the time it's best to leave it. The parents will still take care of it. This is very normal behavior for Robins, for example. There is one on the ground in my backyard right now...
This is a public forum so the best thing to do is call the main office. I'm sure they will appreciate your efforts. Thank you
Yes I am aware of it. But it was weak and it has, what appears to be a broken leg because its not straightening it. Thats why have been looking for professionals who can give that baby bird a better chance at living.
