Everything on this side of the river is walking distance (less than 0.5 miles). You may want to drive if you are going across the river or going to the river tubing.
Betty's Country Store is across the street, grocery/deli/misc; and you can walk to the shops/downtown

From the Quality Inn, you are about or less than a mile. Pull out of the hotel make a left you can go straight or 2 blocks up is a sign that points to historic district on the right. That's bay st, and you'll run directly into the shops and restaurants. Shout out for some good local food there is "Luther's Well and Rare" some weekends they have live entertainment. Food is great and you can sit outside and have direct view of the harbor....ENJOY!
It's the closest one to be in walking distance to everything. That's the only one i will stay at. Reasonable price too.
Everything in helen is relatively close. We drove somr and walked some. Usually drove while eating to the establishment. And parked behind the shops during the day. I think it was 5$ or so for the day.
