A nice walk surround by plants and art work. There is a nice view of the city and river. You can also purchase art and other things along the way. There is also a restaurant/bar, and some other concessions.
The high line is beautiful for walking and taking in the city. It is also full of changing art installations as well as the seasonally changing gardens. It was a big highlight of our trip.
It is a disused elevated railway track with a well constructed plant lined pathway which passes over several road bridges over the city streets. Being elevated it allows safe strolling above the traffic, with great views. I went along part of it in late September, and most of the plants were probably past their best, but I would imagine it would be very nice up there earlier in the year. It is maintained by helpful and friendly High Line staff.
It's a good idea to come here at different times. The seasonal beauty makes the park more enjoyable. Though I suggest to really visit in Spring and Winter
