How to get entrance to museum

Andrea Hofmeier | Sep 23, 2020

For non New Yorkers $25. Welcome to New York... As a visitor I feel discriminated.

Leica Carol | Sep 24, 2019

Public museums paid for with tax dollars are free to any public. They asked for $25 and I politely declined and gave a donation of $3 per person. Then gave my tags away to a family still waiting outside and clued them in on admission. Our double decker tour guide gave us this clue or we would have paid full price too. Remember you have already donated by default with your tax dollars.

Gabe F | Sep 9, 2022

The Met's current admission policy: For New York State residents as well as New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut students, admission is pay as you wish. Please be as generous as you can. For visitors from outside New York State, there will be a mandatory admission fee: $25 for adults, $17 for seniors, and $12 for students. Admission for all children under 12 and Members and Patrons will continue to be free.

Matthew Gibbins | Sep 24, 2019

Yes, it's $25 for adults if you are not from New York, but what none of the guidebooks told me was the $25 admission is good for *three consecutive days*, so if you have the opportunity to return for more than one day, there is excellent value. And hey, it's the Met!!

Danike nic | Sep 24, 2019

You can make a donation in a lesser amount. $10 or & 5. The museum is located on Fifth Avenue but actually in central park. Don't be bashful. Pay what you can afford to do
