Amazing museum! They do the best with their size since each piece and story is amazing! You can easily spend 2 hours here!

Cute, informative gallery. Easy place to spend an hour or just pop in for a peek.

I loved my visit to this museum, and the gift shop afterwards. I was truly awed by the works in the museum, especially the needlearts. My daughter and I stayed for a few hours and we were delighted. I am surprised that this gem is free. Wish their donation box had been located on the way OUT instead of the way in. I didn't know how wonderful it was on my way in.

The American folk art museum would probably be a good place to start. Or try going to the main Manhattan library on 5th ave 42nd at. They could probably direct you in the right direction
It is always free. You can pay for membership if you want.
It's best to contact the museum directly for a question like this. This forum is more for unaffiliated but interested locals to contribute knowledge from their personal experiences to others.
Hi Patricia, Thank you for this question! Please send a check to the administrative office in Long Island City. The address is: American Folk Art Museum Administrative Office, 47-29 32nd Pl, Long Island City, NY 11101. We are grateful for your support!
Thank you for your question. You can find tickets here: http://afamtickets.folkartmuseum.org. FYI: you do not need a ticket in advance to visit. Although we encourage registration in advance, pop-ins are welcome, too.
Hi Naomi, Thank you for your question. Yes, we encourage you to reserve a ticket in advance of your visit. Tickets are available here: https://www.eventbrite.com/o/american-folk-art-museum-30630245268 Admission is always free.
You could go visit! I just went and it was wonderful. Do not remember any cows but there was quite a lot of stuff there. Almost empty the whole time and freeeee
7 dsys a wk. 10-6?
Your pr says you are open on Tuesday but there is confusing info about this. Are you open on Tues?
I i don't think they do that. But it won't hurt to call n find out.
It's free. Donations in the box by the door are ok, but no obligation.
It's pay what you can/want. You should splurge at the gift shop though... Best museum gift shop in town
This isn't a place to contact the museum directly - just for regular people who have been there to answer questions. Better to call them directly or check their website.
It is near the Laguardia performing art center, in Long Island City, NY.
