You have to buy a ticket but you put the price. You can pay 1$, the suggested 25$, 1000$ or any amount that you want. It's completely up to you.
You can only choose to donate if you are a resident of NY or a student of NJ or CT. If you are a member, patron or child under 12, it's free. If you don't fall under any of the above categories, you pay 25.00, if you are 65 or older it is 17.00, students are 12.00. They require documentation, too, for all of that.
Despicable to charge non- New Yorkers $25.
Donation means that you can put whatever amount of money you want for your ticket. At the counter they're going to try to charge you 25$ per person just say no, you want to make a donation of $__ instead.
It's always pay as you wish for New Yorkers and $25 for non New Yorkers
NYERs donate what they want - awesome!!! Tourists pay $25 which is fair- we go to other countries - we pay up !!!!
The New York residents have already paid with their taxes to support the museum, so we get in with a donation of a chosen amount. Non-residents pay a ticket price up front.
Get in for a dollar.
You can literally give them a Penny to enter if your a NYC resident. They will try to give you a guilty ' you're not contributing to the tribe ' look, but if your a born and bred New Yorker your taxes help keep the Space open.
It costs 25 for the general public but for NY, NJ residents and students the payment is voluntary.
It seems to be like this but I read that it's possible to choose the amount, this is why I'm asking...
Minimum donation is 25$
Is it necessary to buy tickets early? I will visit NY in july, in about 2 months..
