There is a military discount for day and annual passes, and to most special events. It is easy and efficient to buy the tickets at the zoo
The do but I suggest you try to get the tickets from ITT unless there is a special going on (i.e. children enter free during the month). Also if you're a local and think you will go more than once I highly suggest you buy a year pass, the family one is inexpensive and it gets you, spouse and all the children who live in your house for a year plus you get invites to special events and discounts throughout the zoo...totally worth it!
