Loved seeing these big animals eat chikin. WOW! We’ll be back soon

Awesome sanctuary. People need to visit and support the work they are providing for the animals.

This is a real experience for all. When you see the tigers 🐅 on TV they look small but in person they are huge!
Mandy Torto
Great family activity. We went for the feeding time. Nice people working hard for these cats. You get a lot closer than at the zoo so it's a great experience.

There is a cart available for those who cannot make the walk. Ask for it when you arrive. Tours are self-paced and there are benches throughout, so walking slowly and taking breaks is also an option.
Tickets for the night feeding on Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday are $15 for anyone age 12 and older, $10 for kids 3-11, and free for kids 2 and younger. If you come for the afternoon tours on Thursday or Sunday (no feeding), tickets are $10 for anyone 12 and older, $5 for kids 3-11, and free for kids 2 and younger.
Yes. It is a wonderful tour. I recommend the night feeding. Tickets are available when you get there.
The tour is about a half mile at a slow pace. There are benches throughout the sanctuary so you can stop and rest as you need. Many people have no problem getting around with a walker. If it is too much for you, however, you just need to let one of the volunteers know and we will drive you around on a cart to make sure you see everything. I hope that answers your question and that you will come see us soon.
It's normally scheduled hours on Sunday are from 1 to 6 pm.
Get there early. About 6:30. They have a little bit of a presentation, and they take you on a guided tour of the wild animals. After the tour, they do feeding at around 7:45. Then you can walk around and look at the different animals.
Not the AZA. The Catty Shack Ranch meets and exceeds all state and federal regulations. There are frequent inspections. Most people who work there are volunteers. Everyone there is passionate about animals and this ensures the best possible care for the animals.
Only certified service dogs are allowed, and then only if the service animal and our resident animals are not bothered by it.
I don't know their actual pet policy, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Only certified service animals are allowed, and then as long as its presence does not cause a disturbance to our animals or stress to the service animal.
They offer night feedings, but not sure how much actual interaction it is.. they are still wild animals that would have no qualms eating you given the chance
Besides the 19 tigers currently there, you will be able see on tour a couple male lions, a leopard, a cougar, bobcats, servals, a caracal, a bear, coatimundis (in the raccoon family and native to South America), and foxes.

If you go during the afternoon, they are open every day and allow people to enter between 1pm and 3pm. Cost is $12 for anyone age 12 and older, $5 for kids 3-11, and free for kids 2 and younger. They are also open in the evenings only on Friday and Saturday. They open at 6pm for self-guided tours followed by watching them feed the animals at 7pm. Adult package includes a free shirt and free drink or snow cone, and costs $45. Kids get the free drink or snow cone, and their tickets are $25. For the night feeding, you must buy tickets online because they limit the number of people to about 50 per night.
Day tours are on Thursday and Sunday with admittance between 1:00 PM and about 3:00 PM. Night feeding tours are on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday with admittance between 6:00 PM and 7:15 PM, and the feeding starts at 7:30 PM. During the last 3 weeks of October Catty Shack Ranch will have their Haunted Forest event so no night feedings on those Friday or Saturday evenings, and no day tours on the Sunday afternoons of Haunted Forest.
18 is the minimum age to volunteer without a family member present, but we take volunteers as young as 16 with a parent accompanying them. The process of becoming a volunteer starts by completing an application on the website and then attending an orientation. Orientations are held the second Saturday of each month. More information can also be seen on the website if you click on the Partner tab and select Volunteer.
Catty Shack Ranch is not currently GFAS accredited, but has taken steps toward that goal. They are also a top-rated nonprofit by Great Nonprofits, they achieved a 2019 Platinum Seal of Transparency on GuideStar, and they are in the Trip Advisor Hall of Fame for being rated so highly for 5 consecutive years. Most importantly, visitors come out and see how well-cared for all the animals are, the bond between animals and volunteers, and the plans for future growth. If you have any other questions, you can email me, the adoption coordinator, and my information is available on the Contact page of the Catty Shack Ranch website. Thank you for your inquiry, and I hope you get the opportunity to visit.
You can get there using 9B on get off Hecksher and you should have no problem
Open at 6pm for tours, and the feeding starts at 7:30 Open at 6 pm for visits, and feeding begins at 7:30.
it rained some while we had our tour
Not sure, call there # & find out. But the tour is something not to miss, if they are being feed.
Thank you for your interest in our animals, and I am glad that you found what you were looking for. I hope that you are able to come visit soon!
That depends on when you come out. If you visit on a Sunday or Thursday afternoon (guided tour but no feeding), the cost is $10 for ages 12 and older, $5 for kids 3-11, and free for kids 2 and younger. If you visit for the night feeding on a Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday, the cost is $15 for ages 12 and older, $10 for kids 3-11, and free for kids 2 and younger.
It's a yearly fee, different levels of adoption.
We do offer gift cards, but it is not currently available on the website. You can call during normal business hours or email us using the Contact Us portion of the Contact page on our website. We do hope to have gift cards available for purchase on the website in the future, but one of those other methods should work for you now.
Hope you like it as much as I did
The entry fee depends on when you come to see us. We are open in the afternoons on Thursday and Sunday for guided tours with admittance from 1:00 PM to 3:15 PM. Cost is $10 for anyone 12 and older, $5 for kids 3-11, and free for kids 2 and younger. We are open in the evenings on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday with admittance from 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM for tours followed by the opportunity at 7:30 PM to watch us feed the animals. Cost is $15 for anyone 12 and older, $10 for kids 3-11, and free for kids 2 and younger.
Active, reserve, and retired military members and spouses with an ID card can receive a discount of $2 per ticket. The discount does not combine with any other discounts - senior, group, etc. The online system does not recognize the military discount, however, so you would need to buy your tickets there (which is never a problem).
Not sure. We bought the tickets online. When we went on Friday the ticket line wasn't that long.
The Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary is a volunteer driven organization. Though we have added a small number of paid staff over the past couple years - a sign of our success and growth - we rely on volunteers to be able to operate effectively. The best way to get started helping at the sanctuary is to volunteer, and the information and application are on our website under the Partner tab. We hope you submit an application and start volunteering with us!
It is a sanctuary for big cats that needed a home, and they are open only on certain days each week. Check the website for the most updated information, but generally they are open on Thursday afternoons and Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. Afternoon visits include a guided walking tour and costs $10 for anyone 12 and older, $5 for kids 3-11 (2 and younger are free). Evening visits include the guided tour followed by the opportunity to watch the animals eat dinner, mostly chicken, and all processed like you see in the store. Cost for the feeding is $15 for anyone 12 and up, $10 for kids 3-11, and free for 2 and younger. Animals are more active at feeding time so that tends to be more popular. Check out the website and their Facebook page for more information, but definitely worth visiting.
We host daytime tours on Thursday afternoons (closed Thanksgiving Day) starting at 1:00 PM with last admittance at 3:15 and we close at 4:00. We also have enrichment tours one Sunday each month. Hours are the same but at 2:00 PM we give out some sort of treat or different item to the cats. The next Sunday we are open is December 9, and we are giving out Christmas presents to the cats. For the remainder of this month the price of admission for afternoon tours is $10 for adults and each regular admission paying adult can bring in up to 5 kids for free. In December we return to our normal pricing of $5 for kids age 3-11. You can buy tickets online through our website or pay when you show up. I hope that answers your questions and that we will see you soon.
It should be fine for the wheelchair; most of the grounds are packed dirt or grass. If, however, it proves to be too difficult for you to push her around, we can drive her (and others from your group as space allows) on one of our electric carts. Just let us know if you need the cart and we will be happy to provide it. We hope to see you soon!
There is absolutely no contact between the public and the animals. Safety of both the residents and the visiting public is of utmost importance to Catty Shack Ranch.
If you come on a Thursday afternoon for a guided tour, the cost is $10 for adults. We are also open in the evening every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday for guided tours followed by the opportunity to watch us feed the animals. The cost is $15 for adults.
They have their prices listed on their website. Theres different tours you can take.
Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday (including today) we open at 6:00 PM for guided tours that leave about every 15 minutes. Last tour leaves at 7:00, and last admittance is 7:15. At 7:30 you get to watch us feed the animals. Please note: Saturday the 21st we are hosting a special event, our spring camp out, and are NOT open to the general public. More information on the Roar-N-Snore camp out is available under the events tab of our website.
$15 adults $10 kids for night feeding. $10 adults $5 kids day tours. I recommend the night feeding!
Tell them exactly that. "Hey I've been here more than once and I would like to skip the presentation if it is okay with you?" Can't hurt to ask 😊
This is not the Jacksonville Zoo
Yes, the cats are enclosed in their respective areas. Great to see big cats up close unlike a zoo where they are far from where you can actually view them.
