Catty Shack Ranch is not currently GFAS accredited, but has taken steps toward that goal. They are also a top-rated nonprofit by Great Nonprofits, they achieved a 2019 Platinum Seal of Transparency on GuideStar, and they are in the Trip Advisor Hall of Fame for being rated so highly for 5 consecutive years. Most importantly, visitors come out and see how well-cared for all the animals are, the bond between animals and volunteers, and the plans for future growth. If you have any other questions, you can email me, the adoption coordinator, and my information is available on the Contact page of the Catty Shack Ranch website. Thank you for your inquiry, and I hope you get the opportunity to visit.
Not sure. But it is funded by the donations and proceeds of others. It gets no funding from the state.
Thanks Kurt. I hope you can get the accreditation in the future. It looks like you would be the only big cat sanctuary accredited in northern Florida. As a supporter that accreditation helps put my mind as ease that I'm not supporting a a bad organization. With the abuse that these cats go through from other "sanctuaries" it can be hard to know for sure that are not funding their abuse. Honestly I looked at your long list of volunteer veterinarians and it put me at ease. I hope to visit soon.
I don't know. I know they are a non profit organization with vet services on site. They help educate the public about these animals.
It is $350/year for facilities with $500k-$2mil in expenses annually. This may be why they are not accredited.
You can ask them on their Instagram. They are pretty responsive
