Yes, and there also is charity care. Due to EMTALA (a federal law) the hospital must provide care to all, regardless of insurance or not. If you are without insurance you can speak with a case manger/social worker who can help you apply for financial aid that could possibly pay for your bill or lower it to where you can make monthly payments.
