I believe you have to be a registered guest or know someone staying there. They check at the gate.
If you book a reservation for the Hoop Dee Doo review or Mickeys BBQ, you can go into the property. You must park and check in at the front desk and then ride the Disney transport to the back of ft wilderness. We book the 8pm Hoop Dee Do...go to that and then sit on the Ft. Wilderness beach and watch the MK fireworks before leaving 🙂

Can confirm: you must be a registered guest, be staying at another on site resort with WDW, or know some at the campground in order to enter the grounds.
If are registered at another Disney resort & access Fort Wilderness through the Disney transport (ferry or bus) the answer is yes!
