All behind the wheel test are by appointment only. However if you pass the written exam it is possible that you can take the driver's test on the same day. However, I strongly recommend that you make a scheduled appointment for everything, even if it is on the same day. That way you don't have to wait around all day. Remember the DMV has a lot of people and they all want what you want.
Most of these people are mis informed. You do not need an appointment for the written test. You have to pay a fee for the written test. This test allows 3 chances to pass the written test and the driving test together. A one time 31 dollar fee is required to take the written test and the driving test. You do not get charged anything extra for a license if you pass both tests in the first 3 chances after that you will have to pay the 31 dollar fee again for 3 chances for the written test and driving test. If you fail the written test 3 times or the driving 2 times you have to repay the fees for the written and the driving test together. You do not have to pay for both tests and itβs only a 31 dollar fee for Both tests.
On your phone go to dmv.ca.gov when you get to this website scroll down to where it says make an appointment for driver test, it doesn't say anything about it costing anything but if you pass the test then there's a fee to get your driver's license because they'll need to take your picture and you have to pay for the driver's license and that service so it could be $25 or $35!! Or you can call 800 -777-0133 follow the prompts on the phone and you can make an appointment for that driving test!! you also could stop by the DMV there in Lancaster and they have an information desk and you can ask them if there's a cost and you probably could make an appointment!! You get faster service with an appointment than if you just walk in!! I hope this information helps you ππ
Yes of course they want allll the money they can get from you... I believe it's $36 for the behind the wheel test. As for taking the behind the wheel test as a walk-in. No. You have to make an appt for that. Downfall of it is that it takes about a month to get an appt. You can do so online on the dmv website. Hope this helps π & good luck!
