Reach out to the shelter. Pay for training courses if you can. Return the dog if there's no other choice... But it's totally normal for dogs to not easily get along at home for a few days, and even have a flare a few weeks later. Just have patients and give them both love. You're doing great! Keep it up!
We are so sorry to hear it is not working out with your pet. You can bring your adopted pet back anytime within the first 30 days of adoption without an appointment. After that, you will just need an appointment to bring them back.
If the dogs are violent towards each other it's a good idea to rotate them in a crate. Give each dog equal amount of time taking turns being in the crate that way they can get each other's scent without the fear or a physical confrontation. Then when you're more confident they will get along have a friend or family member hold the old dog on a leash while you hold the new dog. Get close enough for them to smell each other but not close enough to attack, while rewarding good behavior with treats
That is true but with the dog bein g rescued he automatically will feel as if another dog is taking his home a d can become aggressive. Be sure to give the affection to both also be sure that you do things with both of them together this way they understand that its both not one. What else will help is when the first dog does something nice towards or with the other dog praise him for being a good dog that can help him get used to bei g around the other dog quicker.
