Hilary, it is a pretty great distance, but that shouldn't stop you. The answer is yes. I cannot tell you how many cyclists I have passed heading up there. They have my respect! And, there are many trails to hike heading that wAy. That shared, do NOT go hiking it alone and do inform Rangers in the area of your route to be taken, who you are with and your destination. Go for it!
Does cedar city have a car pool scheme or hiking groups for days out? It'd be great for sharing costs or for people who don't drive.
It's pretty far from the actual city and the elevation increase is pretty substantial so probably not.
I don't think so
I didn't see any tour buses or anything while I was out there, so i don't think so. It's much less traveled than Bryce or Zion and at higher elevation, so I'm not sure there if sufficient demand for that kind of thing.
