I have this weird situation with my grass. The more it rains, the taller it gets. It's like 4ft now. How do i get the grass to only grow 4 inches?

I don't want to mow. I just need grass that only grows 4 inches tall. I'm sure if i plant the right seeds I can accomplish this. I need to know the best way.
