Auto Insurance is mandatory in the State of Florida, if your renting a car and want to use your own, it's a good idea to bring your insurance card or a picture of it with you in case something happens and you need the info, i.e. accident, pulled over etc.
If you have full coverage on your own vehicle you don't ever have to get purchase car insurance for a rental.

Yes you need insurance. You can use your own but make sure you're covered in another car you can use to make sure you're coverage using another vehicle. I agree with the person above to bring it along with you just in case you need to present it.
