If we adopt a pet from the shelter do we have to pay for a pet or do would it be free...and if so how much would it be for a dog

I've not adopted from the Animal Center, instead from the ASPCA, at no cost when they did animal adoption campaigns, However, they would ask for a donation

Senior pets are not free

The adoption fee depends on the age of the animal, babies are $125.00. Senior pets are free, adults $50-$75.

It's not free. I took 2 cats for $150, I think dogs are like 200.
