I've stayed there several times. All rooms have their own A/C and the hotel, itself, is kept pretty cool.
There is a thermostat in the room. My room also had stand alone unit with a decorative cover over it. I had an issue and maintenance leaned the cover back to adjust the unit. April in Florida is definitely warm weather for Orlando.
We stayed in a renovated room and the air con had it's own thermostat so you have the power to turn it on/off and the temperature up/down, not the hotel management. We stayed in May, but I really can't imagine that they make the air con unavailable from October to May as Florida's climate warrants using air con all the time.
I'm not sure if that is the case as rooms have there own thermostat anything below 70 Fahrenheit and air con kicks in
