You will need to call verizon customer care and asked to speak to the global department. They will help you with how your phone will work based on your phone type and plan. Do not go into a store talk to global support. They are specialized in international service.

FYI: Asking questions here are seen by fellow Google users whom, more likely than not, will have nothing to do with the business (in this case, the specific Verizon location on Camino De La Reina, not Verizon at-large) a question was asked about, save perhaps visiting it before.
Be sure to have a Jetpack to be sure you have a WiFi connection wherever you go .
Just get a travel pass, or upgrade to unlimited everything so it will cover on international travelers just let them know where and how long
