The NY State prisons are not following the new HALT rules. . My grand nephew is serving 30 days. Does to governor know that the piece of legislation she signed is NOT being followed.

Per the new HALT legislation, incarcerated individuals may still receive SHU time of varying durations as a result of offenses/rule violations inside the prison. However, they will not be placed in SHU for longer than 15 days at a time and no more than 20 days in a 60 day time period. So, if the incarcerated individual has received 260 days SHU time they would serve that in smaller increments over a longer period of time, not 260 days in a row.
